auto glym help

  M135i
I got a few auto glym products last week for my b,day and was just wondering what the difference is between the super resin polish and the aqua wax ? i just wanted abit more info on how to use and how good they are. thanks

Aqua wax can be used when the car is wet and can be used on windows, plastics etc...
The super resin polish can only be used when the car is dry and takes longer than the wax but the results last longer.
I use both on mine, polish every 6 weeks or so and wax every couple of weeks

ok cheers pal, ill give the aqua wax ago now. i know this sounds stupid but how do u apply it proplerly, im guessin i just wash the car like normal ( with the auto glym bodywork shampoo conditioner + water) and then spray on the aqua wax and rub in with a sponge ? and then wipe down with the cloth after ? how long do i leave it on for ?

The super resin is a mild abrasive polish..bit like t-cut..but 100% better...use after you have washed the car and it is dry.
The wax is to seal in all the hard work you have done with the SR..and to repel water and stop yucki stuff sticking to the car. obviously use after the SR.
I would invest in a microfibre..cant live without them.

do a panel at a time then polish off with microfibre cloth.

so i should use the super resin polish before the aqua wax, can i use the micofiber cloth to polish it off staright after ive sprayed the car ( im guessin so) sorry im rubbish at car detailing as u can tell

Everyone has to learn :)
Yep use the SR first to get it sparkly..apply with a cotten cloth and remove with a Microfibre. then apply wax with cotten cloth or sponge applicator and remove with Microfibre.
Do a panal at a time. roof, door, 1/4 panal, bonnet, boot.

Polish - does what it says and Polishes to create gloss and shine

Wax - Seals and Protects the paintwork for the element.

Super Resin also leaves behind some standalone protection too. It is more also contains some chemical cleaners to help clean up the paint nicely and some filling properties so hide some of the defects it is not abrasive enough to remove.

Is nothing at all like T Cut though! The key to it is is use very little and work it well on the panel leaving little to nothing to remove or it will dust like crazy.

use as little as possible on the super resin polish 50p size max for the whole bonnet

so to get this straight (as I have the same products and save starting a new thread)

--------------------------

wash the car

dry the car

polish one panel with SRP and then immediately aqua wax the same panel

repeat over whole car.

--------------------------

cheers guys!

Yeap that would work, would probably be better of using the Extra Gloss Protection rather than the Aquawax and then use the Aquawax after the next time you wash it as it seems to work alot better on wet panels.

so SRP one panel then gloss it.

or wash the whole car, dry the whole car, srp the whole car, and gloss the whole car????

then next time i wash it, wash then aquawax.

(ooooooooooooooooo post #172 =D -carpe diem- )

Apply a nice thin coat of EGP to the whole car, allow to cure for 30-60 mins and wipe off. The key is really to get it as thin as you can.

lol this thread is confusing...

wash the car
dry the car
apply and buff off the SRP one pannel at a time
Cover whole car in EGP (not windows or plastics)
leave for 60mins
buff off EGP
DONE

Nest time wash the car
dry the car
cover car in EGP (not windows or plastics)
leave for 60mins
buff off EGP
DONE

Next time you wash the car
DO NOT DRY
Spray Aqua wax on (everything, including windows and plastics)
wipe it in with one of the supplied cloths (do not buff off)
Do this to the whole car
buff off all the Aqua Wax with the other supplied cloth

Jobs a good 'un

something like that anyway...it's good to get a nice couple of coats of SRP before any EGP goes on

and then it's good to get a nice couple of Coats of EGP on before the Aqua Wax goes on

tbh the glass polish is great! after a wash with the shampoo the windows are streak free and it is well worth the cash! the screen wash is great too!!!!

  Better than yours. C*nt.
The thing with EGP is if you think you've put enough on, you've put too much on.

Lots of thin layers as opposed to caking it on.
