AUTOMATIC LIGHTS

Hello,im rudders,i have a 172 ,Few problems but most minor.the latest one is the lights.they used to come on automaticly when it got dark but they dont any more,is it a sensor or something??:dapprove:

you might have turned the auto light off. i think you turn them on by putting the lights off and on again twice whilst just the ignition is on. i may be wrong! give that a go though.

Have you been fiddling with them and turn the auto function off? Look in the manual for destructions.

Key in ignition, 1 turn, then turn the side lights on and off three times. It's beep and thats them on. I'm sure that's the procedure anyway.

once you hear it beep where do u leave the light stalk as in what position? off? sidelights? or full lights?

i have just done this, and it beeps twice, but then nowt happens, tried all combinations, turning ignition off and on again after the beeps. but nowt, got 02 ph2 172 climate control etc...

nothing will happen until you start the engine... the auto lights come on with the engine.

They're crap anyway, mine are turned off. With them on you can't quickly flash someone, the lightest flick will keep the full beams on until you flick them off again.

It should only beep once :S if its beeped twice have you switched auto on and then off again lol. turn the key round 1 click, then flicked the sidelights on and off twice to turn auto lights on. switch the ignition off and then start the engine they should be working.
