Axle stand confusion...

According to the Haynes manual the axle stand locations are the same as the jacking points. So I jack the car up on one side and attempt to place the axle stand in the correct location, this is tricky as my jack is there!

Ok, use the other jacking point at the back and place my axle stand at the front jacking point. I then go and attempt to jack up the other side of the car so I can put my other axle stand in, this looks a little odd to me as you already have one side of the car up and you are attempting to jack the other side up. So you have the car balanced on two daigonals until you can get the other axle stand in.

Please can someone tell me if this is the correct way to lift the front of my valver up so I can have a look at the engine from underneath!

Thanks Mat.

erm thats the way to do it if you would like die/have the car fall off.

Jack it up and use the stands on the chassis rails.

Sorry. Can someone explain to me exactly how I do this as I am a little confused. I thought there were only 4 jacking points on the car!

Mat.

you put the jack in where it goes on the sill then support is with axle stands on the box sectiosn behind this point.

look under the car. the two "rails" that go from around about the subframe back, and have the exhaust between them, are what you want.
