Bad day

So yesterday me and my mechanic mate go too put on my new scorpion decat thought it was going too be easy enough but no first problem after jacking up the car we find the the end and flanges of the down pipe are starting too corrode no biggie my pal says still doable but will need a new one in the near future (can anyone recommend any for me?) next problem the gasket Renault supplied me doesn't fit round the decat properly the bolt holes don't match up just out slightly after you match it up over the central hole on the decat anybody else ever had this problem as Renault are telling me this is the only one for the 182 or can anyone recommend a different gasket? And the third problem of the day came in the fact I found out the front drivers side spring has snapped so had too order a new set of springs last night too not a happy bunny atall now ended up achieving nothing except find out more problems with the car the joys of French ownership lol

Hey you can't blame french car ownership Tbh I'd be contacting scorpian, if the gasket won't fit round the decat pipe an it don't line up its more then likely going to be a problem with the decat. Have you got any pictures you can upload?

I would tend to agree! The manifold side must be correct as it fitted before and it's genuine renault. This would suggest the problem is with the decat.

Cheers guys il look into it and contact scorpion then was my thoughts too with being a genuine Renault gasket thought should fit straight on! Not blaming French ownership I know the perils lol any recommendons on downpipes? Decent upgrades?

The gasket doesn't fit fully into the decat until you screw and tighten it in place. The bolts are very difficult to get on but they do fit - I had to get my mate to clamp the decat to the manifold dead tight and then screw it in myself, it seemed like the thread wasn't long enough but eventually we got it on.

Ahh ok i see we didn't even get that far just put it all back together when thought gasket didn't fit, but cars off road till get my new springs anyway so will give it a bash when they come cheers for the heads up mate!
