I'm setting up a small network for a company that is only going to be used for mail and intranet access from the internet. Basically I'll probs have 200 users accessing OWA from the internet.

Question is will I get away with a ADSL connection?

SDSL isn't available

Bonded ADSL being the next one up.

Or should I get a 2meg Leased line (about 6k a year) plus 2.5k setup fee!!!

Up front aint a problem as it will be funded (A training company)but monthly cost will be an issue.

What other options do you think I have?

200 users accessing it how many at a time ?

and tbh id say even the leased line wont be enough we have just gone from 2-4mb

will the line be used for anything else at all ?

Well this is the thing - it's gonna be tricky to say (200 students) so anytime of the day really - suppose I need to plan for all 200 at once.

It will only be used for Email and intranet access only - but they will download documents from the intranet.

Maybe best to look at hosted solutions.

I'd say no. General web browsing and email will cope but with the potential of 100+ users at a time downloading files its going to be slow.

It may well work out cheaper renting a server from a hosting company.
