batteries.

Anyone know if the battery for the Mk1 Phase 1 Diesel clio will fit in a Mk1 Phase 1 1.4 ??

I have measurements if anyone can tell me by using measurements.

Standard 1.4 battery - 204x704x50mm

Diesel 1.9 battery - 240x704x65mm

Cheers people!

yeah it will go in. You could get a bigger one that that in there if you wanted. You can use the full length and width of the tray. The best thing to do if you are buying a battery to keep your stereo running is to measure the tray and go into your local battery shop and measure a few batteries. Get the biggest one that will fit in.

I work at halfords so ill get staff discount..

My current battery is the Heavy duty one for my car, and its 45ah and 380ca

The one im looking at is the Standard battery for Diesel (dont do heavy duty) and its a 62ah and 520ca.

Im running 2 amps, 1 With a 40a fuse (hifonics z400) and 1 with a 20a fuse (Alpine MRP-T130) Do you recon a 62a battery will do it fine ? or should i go for more ?

Also does anyone know anythin about these funny screw cap things on the top of my battery ? Do they come off and slip on the new battery terminals or will i need new ones from renault ?

will new new style clio 1.2, run a 4 x 60W RMS, or a 2 x 65W RMS amp and the hu - a 7894rb - so source straight form bat?

thanks

Rorrie - that should be fine. You may need a larger battery if you run a second amp or a sub etc.

Nfbr - the size battery you are going for should be fine. You shouldnt need a larger size unless you are planning running a largeish system.

That system shouldnt need that much power really. You can get away with what you have planned.

Ben - theres no real need for rear speakers in a small car but some people (myself included) like a small bit of rear fill to bring the sound round the car. Ive tried both ways many times with many different speakers and prefer it like that. I would have something in the back but its all down to personal preference.

1 - For some reason my car just sounds better when i have no rear speakers (tried it with some rear speakers the other day and it just didnt sound rite.

2 - If i got rear speakers that would mean paying for rear speakers and another amp. Running Speakers off Head unit = More prone to distortion

3 - When your at a concert, You dont listen to the band / singer with your back turned to the stage do you ;)
