been for a drive..

  330Ci cab
a nice one at that, through the stockbroker belt and surrounding areas, looked at a naked Mclaren in the showroom, and basically had a good blast. all the while i was thinking it needs a 6th gear.
first proper 'angry' drive since i bought it seeing as the roads were clear, so it got some pain, but it revs too high at 80 for me :S anyone else think similar?

i havent been in a newer model, let alone looked at one tbh.
when you go for a drive and not a commute you, well i do, find things out about what your driving. sometimes good, sometimes not so good. in this case it was good, handles like a go kart. nice :)

The MK3's rev even higher than the 1*2's on the motorway. Even the 6th gear is shorter than 5th in the MK2. I found my 172 ok revs wise on a cruise. I think 80 was about 3500rpm. Much better than the 4000rpm in my mx5 anyway.

On a standard exhaust they are probably not too bad but if it's like mine then droooooooone. Gets annoying after about 30 seconds.

same here in my 197 with milltek, it sounds awesome driving around town but had a long 150 mile drive back in september and it got on my f*cking nerves after about 10 mins!
