belt squeal

ive somehow lost a bolt...the alternator tensioner 1...which means my belt is loose/squealing. simple question...can i use any bolt to fix it & does anyone know what size? its a 2003 clio cup

I had this expect problem on my 172 cup, the alternator bolt had sheared off somehow. I got it fixed by JMS and the bolt from Renault was only about £25 from Renault. And now it is fitted it doesnt squeal at all.

No, not any bolt. Its made to fit that area. If it was any bolt it would not be 25 quids worth. Unless your a pikey?

my mates a mechanic & he said any bolt will do...think im gonna play safe & pop to renault tomorrow

Mine was howling, I've just had the Aux belt/alternator changed, and it's reet now.

depends if it's just the bolt, or if it's the adjuster itself. If it's just the bolt, then it's a 20p item
