Its a DVD to mp4 converter.

Hi Rich..
I have heard about VLC....will it play WMV WMA files etc??
Still got a load of WMV files from my old PC that I wanna play but don't want to run PARALEL or virtual PC etc.

Not sure will give it a try, there is a version of Windows Media Player for Mac so I just use that.

Edit - no does not look like it will.

I dont see the point of Growl?

Well...

You have a growl enabled application minimized - say "Mail", you're working away and then you get a notification that new mail has arrived.

It's very useful. Or you're downloading something and then it notifies you when it has finished.
 
It is useful.. but I always turn it off.

The main thing was Adium can hook into it, and do prompts like MSN does.. which is semi useful, although, nothing is better than a bouncing duck on ya dock ;)

It's useful for lots of things.. I'm sure Cyberduck uses it too for transfer status updates etc.
 
I agree. Out they box it is, but with some tweeking and customisation...

I tell you I downloaded the liveCD of dreamlinux the other day. It's just a plain rip off of OSX. Even animates the screens like OSX!
