Depends what u download really, I still use public torrent sites and utorrent and max out my connection which is around 900k/sec, all about the seeds really

i am on 20mb though, it goes up to 40 in a couple of months. Have never got over 10mb through torrents.

Get yourself a trial giganews account, download "GrabIt" (do a search on Google), then go to somewhere like newzleech.com.
Once you've downloaded a few gigs at full speed you won't want to use P2P again.
