Best photo printer??

  Pink & Blue 182, JDM DC2
Fancy one for printing my pics from the Canon. Would like something that is Pictbridge compatible so I can print direct from the camera.

Anyone recommend one?

ive got the Epson R300 too... reproduced all my parents wedding photo's with it, after editing them. They now look better than the professional ones!

top quality :)

Epson's are good, HP's quite good too. Whichever make you get, just forget buying the 'official' cartridges if you're going to be doing a fair bit of photo printing. You'll end up spending the National Debt of China! ;)

^^ But you'll also void your manufacturers warrenty using unofficial cartridges too. I'd recommend EPSON - R300 / R800 - using EPSON colours and unofficial blacks if you want to cut cost.
As far as bang for your buck - I've not seen better prints than the R300 for the price.

Bit late posting on this thread - oh well - lol

Canon ones are ok - teeny weeny cartridges tho so you'll have to replace them quite regularly. But upside is they're small but cheap.

Well... I just bought a Canon PIXMA iP4200 and Im absolutely delighted with it. On glossy paper the results were phenomenal. Duplex printing, highest dpi (9600dpi), direct CD printing, seperate ink cartriges, and pictbridge compatible. Despite it being only a 4 colour cart printer (5th cart for extra dark black) its better than any 6 cart printer ive seen. Perhaps the best feature is the sheer speed - you have got to spend much more for an Epson/HP to match its speeds. And carts on this Canon are quite big with two seperate blacks - one for photo and one for text.
