BIG problem HELP!

I hope this is in the right section, My girlfriend has two hotmail accounts which have been hacked and have loads of personal details on there (address....etc.) and has two facebook accounts (old and new) which have been hacked aswel. The passwords have been changed and so have the secret questions on the hotmail accounts.
Is there anything at all she can do to get back on them or even just delete all the accounts for good?! She is freaking out because someone will now have everything about her.

Anyone able to help??

Sorry to hear this .. but makes me wonder why do people still use Hotmail ! :S

The only junk emails i get from people (excluding the spam/viagra/loans rubbish) come from people with Hotmail accounts...

Get on gmail (other mail providers are available..) and leave Hotmail back in 1997 where it belongs

best option is to phone msn/hotmail. theres a support number somewhere. I did this when all my accounts were hacked and they were really helpful in giving them back to me.

I highly doubt that some ub37 1337 haxor that now has access to her hotmail accounts is going to track her down and kill her.

Iv got it all back and changed passwords now so i think its sound for now

All the personal stuff was in e-mails from like clothes orders and stuff.

I remembered i set one of the alternative e-mail addresses to one of her accounts as my e-mail so had a change code sent to my e-mail so once i got hold of one account i could get the other and both facebook's back.

I wouldn't say its anything to do with Hotmail... even if you had Google Mail it would of still been hacked as it sounds like you have a key logger / trojan backdoor on your PC and the scrote is just helping himself.

I never understand how people manage to have their accounts hacked....I've had my hotmail since 2003 and never had this problem. Same with facebook.

I never understand how people manage to have their accounts hacked....I've had my hotmail since 2003 and never had this problem. Same with facebook.

It is exceedingly rare for your account to be hacked as such. 99.9% of the time it is all about keyloggers being installed on your PC, or you have been phished.

Once you have one account, the others will fall like dominos, as they are generally all linked together, or the first e-mail account will have password change notificiations form the others so you can gain access through there.

The best plan of action is:

1) Change all the passwords that you can (and I meann all of them, not just the ones on the compromised accounts)
2) Install a proper virus scanner
3) Scan and remove any/all torjans/viruses etc
4) Change all of your passwords AGAIN

Even better is to backup all your stuff, re-install your PC, then install a virus scanner, then change all your passwords.

Oh, and make sure that any accounts that have been compromised haven't had their password reminder e-mail settings changed, as you might get control of the account back, then the "hacker" just request a new password reminder sent tot heir own account and the whole trouble starts again.
