Bolts sheared off...

Today removing the subframe i managed to sheer 2x bolts off, it was 2 of the 13mm bolts that hold those 2 small plates from the subframe onto the chasis. So what idea's do people have to get the threads out?? There is no thread sitting proud so can't get any grips on them. I only have basic tools, drills etc so any help is appreciated

Drill the centre of it and hammer a screwdriver into that?

If that fails get a left handed drill bit.

If the bolt has sheared off, trying to turn it with a screwdriver will be as much use as pissing in the wind.

Best bet is to drill it out and re-tap it.

I'm thinking it only sheered off as it was -4 when i tried to undo it lol Threads are all fine as it was off last week.

did you maybe overtighten, or cross the thread when you put it in last time?

are the 2 sheared bolts on the same plate? i'd be tempted to leave it if it's one on each, they do very little

Definatly not cross threaded as they went back in really easily, as for overtightened, more than likely, i have an OCD that bolts are never tight enough and will probably rattle loose I should probably invest in a torque wrench!

Or buy loctite by the bucket

Drill it with a small bit and work up and try and jerk it backwards to see if it will undo it.

If not just drill through and nut and bolt it
