Bonnet Allignment!





I took it off to do my cam belt on fri and decided I know better than to mark where it was previously!

Well now its slightly lower at the passanger side and higher at the drivers, which bolts should I undo and is there any little tricks anyone for realining them?

Also does it matter with the engine mount as well because I didnt make a mark on that and just pulled the engine towards me so all the bolts fit back in! seems to be alright though!

Any advice would be great thanks.

can you line the bonnet hinges up using the paint marks. normally @ production the bonnet is sprayed with the hinges on so you can see where they were bolted before as the area isnt painted. there are two 13m nuts on each hinge.undo these,adjust the bonnet and tighten them back up.
 


Yup, its trail and error to get it perfect, and can me majorly annoying.

Leave the nuts semi tight so you can adj it, but it wont slip when you lift the bonnet back up again, or youll get majorly pissed off.

A mate can be a good help if you got one handy.
 


Cheers lads, Ill give it a try tonight or something, so loosen the bolts off a bit, so they are still griping , then pull the bonnet up and re-tighten them! Ill give it a try!

Jay - There are some marks where the bracket used to be and thats what I used to roughly guide it up but its just a bit tricky!

a bit of trial/error and patiance is the way im afraid. get someone to hold the bonnet whilst you tighten everything up.
