Bonnet won't open.

Mate seems to think the cables come off the latch due to the way it feels on the lever.

So what's the next step. I thought about pushing the grills out and seeing what's what, unless anyone has any other ideas or experiences.

Help appreciated. Josh.

Tried mate. Nothing happened.

Just felt if I had carried on trying to lift bonnet I would have ended up putting a crease in it.

U need to try someone bouncing the bonnet open/closed while someone pulls lever, but need to be careful as you can leave indents on bonnet- this happened to mine,

Strangely enough most clios I see have some form of dents on their bonnets- maybe coincidence

Also Renault should replace latch, but I tried local dealer with my letter from vosa n they refused to do it, but I've got it so I can pop it myself so although not overly fussed I will chase them at somepoint

Tie the bonnet latch to a tree with a tow rope and then reverse, it will pop out. You might need to b quite agressive.

Wtf lol.

Skinz; I've tried being aggressive with the bonnet. Mine already has soft dents in it but feels that if I continue pulling I'm going to bend the whole thing. Once I've got it open I'm going to book it into Renault for my bonnet catch. Got sent a letter.

can you not get under the car, remove the under trays and put your hand up through the gap to pull on the bonnet release cable manually?

It's a possibility, but long arms needed? Quite similar to my idea about pushing the grills out and trying that way but I think the cables come away from the catch ( bonnet end ).

  Many.
I've never tried it on a clio, but I imagine it'll be a pig. They are designed so you can't open the bonnet without the lever.

I don't think popping the grills out will work, besides you'd have to ruin it to get anywhere, And even if you did, the slam panel and rads would get in the way IMO.

From the bottom is the best option, however it will be a pain, not a lot of space and the bit you need to move is incased in plastic (poss metal too), but once you can get to it, all you need to do is slide it, which shouldn't be that hard if you have strong fingers.

Exactly my thoughts mate. But where as you've said about not having much luck with popping the girls out surly if I did I'd be closer to the catch to release it. God knows. Awkward situation really.

I was was hoping someone or maybe a trader would know how to get it done neatly.
