Brake Fluid

right finally found where the fluid resevoir is (damn renault) and its low well under the word min !!!! explains brakes been crap and lights coming on :)

right was just wondering whats the cost of a fluid change and would it be worth going for dot5 fluid

mike

DOT 5 no.......waste of time.

Cost, about 20 quid for fluid and to bleed it yourself..........

right got price off renault £45 might aswell as it needs to go back in for them to have another look at the sill and to replace my drivers seat cover arse more expense

  S2000

Is it worth bleeding/draining it or just refilling it? Its a whole lot cheaper if you just buy a bottle of fluid and refill it.

just bleed the nipples in the correct order, while keeping the reservior always topped up with new fluid. when each nipple bleeds fresh, stop and move on. That easy. oh yeah, pump the brake pedal to move it through, but dont let the reservior empty or youll have air all throguh the brakes.

i tried one of those Eazibleed kits once - load of crap, couldnt get the seal to work, so the old fashioned way is the best!

main prob is the bleed nipple, they will probably snap on you especially the rears.

Anyway fluid shoudl be less than a tenner to do the job, even if you go to halfords, they sell a litre of DOT 4 for 6 quid or something.
