Brake issue/caliper.

Recently changed all my brakes thanks to @George@RTR_Parts (about 2 months ago)

For the past few days the car has been making a grinding noise and on inspection there is small metal shavings on the O/S rear alloy so suggests it's grinding down the pad, even when driving along without breaking.

I spoke to @Cub. who has suggested it's probably a sticking caliper.

I have bought one from RenParts and that is arriving today.

Firstly, does the caliper sound like the issue? Secondly, when changing the caliper I will then have to remove my new rear hub nut. When buying brakes, @George@RTR_Parts suggested replacing this nut. Will I need to replace again as it's been off?

Thanks.

Sounds like a rubbing caliper or the pads arnt in properly. Hub nut, no idea but won't do any harm replacing it

If you aren't changing the disc you won't need to disturb the hub nut.

Effectively it's a Nyloc from memory so it's good practice to replace, but if you torque it up correctly it will likely be fine and you can look to source another in the meantime and change it over in the near future.
