Bubbling leather

Any remedies for leather on steering wheels that has bubbled/torn slightly?
Looks and feels awful!

The melting steering wheel on a mk3, thought they got past that after the mk2. If it's the same, it isn't proper leather and not much can be done to clean or remedy it.

Have a search for melting steering wheel. Plenty of threads

Yeah it's horrible and has started to tear. Not impressed by the finish.
