this game has just reminded me of how much fun burnout was on the first xbox

anyone else got it?? is it possible to actually get bored of smashing your car up on purpose?! lol

had a quick blast online lastnight and it seemed pretty funny.. anyone for a game?

-------------------------------------------

Test drive unlimited.. whats the crack here? got it yesterday.. been on it for about half hour but dont actualy get what you're meant to do? earn a bit of money for dropping off dodgy parcels for dodgy people?

people say its good..
is it mostly about the online playability or am i missing something??

Guy,

TDU. Basically the whole Island can be driven on. You buy a house. Buy cars. Do missions, earn money, buy more cars, tune cars, race other players (online and cpu), do more missions, buy houses, deliver vehicles, drop off packages, get bikes, buy clothes, change your characters clothes, buy stuff etc... then get online!

Good stuff bud, stick at it.

Can't believe you've not played Rainbow Six Vegas.... awesome

how do you tune ya cars? where do you get the missions?

all i seem to have is the bloody sluts wanting lifts and soem crack dealer wanting me to be a transporter.

i cant seem to peel myself off burnout at the minute!!

i'll get round to RS6 at some point

Ok I'll try and explain from memory although I'm at work at the mo. I can help you later tonight if you PM me your MSN address bud.

First of all I imagine you have a car and somewhere to live this is like the start of the game. If you press 'right' on the D-pad part of the controller it brings up the Map of the island. From here you can use the left and right shoulder buttons to flick through the places you can go. The far left one is for all your missions and objectives, the one next to it is like things you can go and do, and the 3rd and 4th tabs are for online gaming etc.

Ok so once on a tab you can press the Blue X button to bring up a filter menu so on the first tab you can filter on things you've been successful, unsuccessful, have specific vehicle requirements like Class A, B, C etc.

On the second tab you can filter on things like car showrooms, bike showrooms, places to buy, houses etc etc.

You have total freedom to drive to a mission (first tab), you can either drive there if you have never driven that piece of road before, or you can go directly as long as you've driven the route before.

You're most likely driving an Audi TT or something crap. Its probably the best starter car so stick with it. You will find alot of useful information by using the map that came in the box. It shows you where a tuning garage is and a few other things. Try and get used to using it to find your way around, taking part in races to earn money.

Once you've got a few quid in the bank visit the car dealerships and have a look around the cars, the instructions are along the bottom of the screen, get in, look around, start engine and TEST DRIVE. Try a few cars out, buy some, sell some, upgrade some after you have found the correct tuning garage.

Once you get into it mate it will become really engrossing. Stunning game. I have 2 Zonda's now, an Enzo, an SLR McLaren.

Visit your home to see your cars in your garage. You can also see your achievements and targets.

The manual is a bit poor on some bits so go and have a play around in there.

yeah i got an audi TT at minute

thanks for the reply, i ended up just playing on burnout, getting to the top rank on that and now started rainbow six vegas.. might get TDU out again at some point and follow your tips

slight problem with maps and manuals.. ;)

I am hooked on TDU at the moment. Currently trying to drive on every single road for the 40G points but its quite boring. Nearly done all the driving missions but got a few races I am stuck on. Can't do any of the bike races either which is annoying because when I try to buy a bike it says I haven't discovered all the car dealerships yet! :(
Got 30 cars so far :D
