You can have it delivered on a trailer or driven down or pick it up.

My bf had his driven down by an old bloke, cos that was free, otherwise it would have been like £200 on a trailer if i remember correctly - but was delivered to Essex, so not sure if distance would make a huge amount of difference?

The guy that drove it down, was fine and no problems at all with the car, no chips or nothing, just a little dirty from the motorway driving. The MPG wasn't low either, so unless he reset it, it hadn't been booted down the motorway either.

delivery drivers are usually semi retired people just doing it for a bit of extra cash I wouldnt worry about some boy racer getting their hands on it to deliver it to you.

Your right they don't let you pick it up unless your getting it from a dealer or a garage

^ my understanding is that they all come through renault Birmingham. But that as the car is sold to Buymeanewcar and not yourself at that point, you cant collect.

Also Renault dont want customers who are paying the maindealer money to be mixing with those that are paying the internet prices. ( you can imagine the uproar)

that was me. When I ordered I requested a trailered delivery at the additional cost of £200, when the car was due to arrive I was advised not to take that option as customer's cars had been getting damaged using this method. It then turned up on a lorry anyway (free of charge ) and the driver just used planks of wood to extend the ramp to avoid any damage being done.

They WILL NOT allow you to pick it up, the choice is someone drives it to you, or its £200 to have it on a lorry. I've heard the cars come via Renault Birmingham also, but speaking to my delivery driver he came direct from the port at Southampton.

Looking at the plates that BMNC supplied they all seem to be registered at Renault Birmingham with their name on the plate.

as I understood it from the driver the PDI was carried out at the docks (along with the alarm, locking nuts etc) apparently the PDI can be done at either the dealership or the docks.

I could imagine that to be hilarious if you were going in there having paid £4-5k less than someone else, but getting exactly the same service and car. :rofl:

A bloke who's retired from our place does it. He says he earns more doing this now, than he ever did working at our place. And that him driving part time!!!

aye suppose that makes sense.
supppose if its striaght from the docs thats another few ££ saved on the transported cost.
