Can the front calipers be stripped down? Ie piston removed, new seal kit fitted? Reason i ask is i have a spare set i want powder coating, and i presume they will need stripping before blasting/baking etc??
Yes they can be stripped down but I would leave the pistons insitu as it would be easy for muck to enter the caliper and scratch the bore. Get them well masked up to be cleaned and painted.
You can get the refurb kits from renault, new pistons etc. Can't see a problem in removing the piston tbh as long as you throughly degrease and clean them before reassembly.
Company called big red do refurb kits and can supply new pistons if you find yours to be corroded. They can do all the work for you to if you dont fancy pulling it all apart. I think I saw a couple of the kits for sale on ebay.
