Calling all Linux gurus (KDF!)

Still being a newbie to the open source mob, I'm a little bit stuck. :)

Basically, I've got a PC with three HDDs which I want to setup the following with...

  1. 1x 500GB for use in a Windows XP SP2 RAID
  2. 1x 500GB for use in a Windows XP SP2 RAID
  3. 1x 160 for use with Ubuntu
Basically, I've got the easy bit done (the RAID) and have installed Ubuntu onto the standalone 160GB drive. It did complain about not being able to see the network and the audio drivers during installation, but I thought I'd address them later.

However (and here's the n00b bit!) - how can I get an OS choice menu to appear when the main boot device is the RAID volume and Linux is installed on a completely seperate drive?

It 'may' say something onscreen currently, but the stupid monitor I'm currently using takes about 0.000001 seconds to go into standby and a further 3 hours to come back out of it - lol!

Any pointers would be great, chaps.

Cheers,
D.

which did you install first? ubuntu or xp?

if it was windows first then you should get the GRUB boot loader or if it was ubuntu then you will get the windows boot loader.

both of these will give you the choice of which OS you want to boot
