Cambelt and Waterpump?

My Clio is coming up to being 5 years old (50k miles) now and due for the cambelt to be changed. Is it worth changing the waterpump while at it?

Anybody had experience with waterpump failures?

I hardly know of any water pump failures. One that I do remember was a brand new pump that failed after being changed!

Seems to be a ClioSport.net myth that they must be done with the cambelt change. Some will tell you to get it done whilst everything is off. Some will tell you (including me) that if its not broke don't fix it. Plus 50k is hardly anything for a waterpump.

on a 1.2 16V and 1.4 16V (maybe the 1.6 too, haven't done one in years!) its a must

172/182 rarely touch them
