Insane price.
pm lemonnobby1 on here. Renault mrchanic in Bristol and will be less than half that I expect.
around the £250 mark is correct, would it help if i told you i have people drive from scotland to birmingham to have their belts done? 80miles is nothing!
So you'd rather let someone you don't know work on your car than drive 80 miles??
Ok.
Good luck. s
Better not drive to the shops in your car then Anything could happen, cambelt could snap, some wee ned could crash into you
Same difference, if its going to happen its going to happen no matter where you are going at the time
Is your girlfriend's grandad's garage going to have the renault timing tools and knowlege?
it's a 1.2, probably the easiest cambelt to change in the history of the universe. There are no locking tools apart from an 8mm bolt into the flywheel to hold the engine at tdc while you tighten the crank pulley.
I've seen them done wrong, but most places should be able to do an acceptable job if they're not thick as pig-s**t
in the region of £250 would be spot on

are you near carmarthen ?
try GWD Motors, they've got the new place next to ATS in Pensarn, they've got the correct tools to do a renault cambelt
they did my wife's scenic for half the price Gravells wanted
anything around the £200 mark i would say is spot on i think i payed £50 + vat for the kit and dannys right its a pretty standard change on the 1.2 16v lump if its done by a garage the work should be coverd anyway
