Car Mat cleaning . .

  106 GTi
Remove matts. Shake to remove lose debris.

Spray on some Autoglym Shampoo in the Tin, Allow to foam up, scrub with a damp cloth. Stubborn stains use something like Meguiars All Purpose Cleaner.

Vacuum, first with a normal attachment and then with one of the brush type tools to pull the pile back up. Allow to dry.

Meguiars interior and carpet cleaner (think it's called) in the pink bottle works well and smells ace!

This is what I do:

Remove matts and shake vigorously!

Hoover off remaining debris.

Use a fly- brush (one of the semi- abrasive sponges you can use to remove dead flies from the forward facing areas in the summer months, which you can get from Serious Performance products) in conjunction with a warm bucket of water mixed with a cleaning product - preferably foaming.

Rehoover, as fly- brush normally flakes a little, and sucks off foam (which should have soaked up grime/ oils). More important for lighter coloured matts as otherwise liquid dries leaving visible rings.

Failing this - treat yourself to a new set of matts! Really does improve the look of the interior having a fresh set.

Hope that helps- not exactly rocket science!!

Put a rubber mat over your drivers side mat to protect it from heel marks and getting grubby...
