car struggling to drive up hill

i have a problem with my 1.4 16v mk2ph2...
here are the symptoms
it struggles to drive up hill
needs extra revs to move off
not driving as quick as it normally does

what could it be?

lol didnt get much response.. went to 3 different mechanics.. they dont even know what the hell is going on :S .. my mate has the exact same problem!

i bet its a coil, had the same symtons on a scenic last week, drove fine but when driving up an incline it would loose power and struggle, col sorted it.

I have this same problem on my 1.2, just doesn't seem to pull as well as usual. Its a bit intermittent on mine atm though.
