carbon bonnet + aerocatch pins

  80MPG BEEZA
one of the mechs at the garage has put a nice dent in my bonnet so im thinking of going to a flat carbon bonnet but thinking of adding in some aerocatch bonet pins (same as yozza's)

would i be able to cut out the holes needed for bonnet pins in a carbon bonnet? even mark it up, drill holes then sand back to the markings?

you can, but most bodyshops will only do it if you sign a disclaimer to say that if the bonnet cracks along the weave they wont be held responsible. or if you feeling brave you can have a go yourself, as its only a very outside chance of it happening. thats what i found when asking round bodyshops to have holes drilled for my washer jets in my old carbon bonnet

you need to treat it a bit like drilling tiles i think, put a small piece of masking tape where you want to drill to stop your drill slipping and go carefully!

well i was thinking it would act like fibreglass does? just the aericatch's are a weird ovaly shape so im going to have to drill a few holes then use files to sand it to shape just abit mental when its almost £400 a bonnet lol

my friend had the k-tec carbon fiber hood on his 172, he didnt use pins, everything was going well, i think it would look nicer w/o pins on a black clio anyways

nah defo going for pins for something abit different, i thought on that the vented one has big cuts outs in it so i should get away with 2 small holes
