Central locking issue ??

Hey everyone I've got an issue with my central locking on a mk2 ph1 , I have to lock my car from the inside using the lock button to keep my car locked at night I've changed the battery in the key fob to still no joy I've tried to sync it up and still nothing but the car still drives like normal no issues there it's just the locking ??

Could it it be the chip inside the key ?

Got the same issue with my ph1,

A while ago it started not to unlock, so i had to unlock it with the key and drive with the alarm going off. Now the button just does not work so i have to use the method of locking from inside and locking one door by the key. Any info on this would be appreciated.
