Centre-Cap HELP!!!

  "Navy" N17 TWO
A few weeks ago I had a centre-cap fly off on me :(
Got a new one, new bolt and got it painted to match the wheel - happy days

Anyhow, fitted all my caps today and the wheel that lost it's cap won't let me tighten up the centre-cap screw :S

Tried all four on all four wheels, all other 3 wheels are fine with all caps & screws

Is there anything I can do with my wheel to get the centre-cap to stay on

Thanks in advance! :)

Sounds like it needs rethreading yeah.
You tried cleaning out the hole with some WD-40 and the like?

Yeah did that on all them, even though the wheels were detailed with Billberry the other day lol ;)

The bolt goes into the hole by hand, no problems

But when you put the bolt in with the cap, it won't catch :S

Strange one then. Try running a tap in the problem hole, just to check the thread out.

Are all the bolts the same, when tried in the problem hole?

Someone suggested some sort of rubber insert you can put inside the hole, then when you screw in the bolt it will re-thread itself.

Any other ideas I can arm myself with to sort this out in the morning? :)

I dont undertand...so its okay without the cao and screws in?? Yet when the cap is in place it wont screw in at all?? :S

Got to be the thread in the wheel then...the start of it must be fckued??

Guessing you have trid using another bolt in there to see if it was the bolt itself???

Yeah tried all the bolts in all four wheels and the other 3 wheels were dead-on, no problems at all
