Changing front brake discs

Difficult to do? Any special tools required?

The retaining screws can be a pain sometimes but just belt them with a hammer worst that can happen is the head will snap of them its no problem though.

You weren't lying about the hammer Fred, the neighbours did not approve

The retaining screws weren't that bad actually. I did worry a bit when the spanner slipped out of the first one, but it was fine.

And the vibration I picked up from my latest trackday has now gone, so it looks like a warped disk was to blame . For £30 for Brembo HC's it was stupid not to change them really.
