Yea but they'll just be usb 2.0 not firewire400 or 800.

Apparently schweppy There's not really alot of difference between 400 and 800.

That website looks fuckin amazin, change the currencies and the price just drops $33 to £19 LOL!!!

The 1 TB one at pc world is a network drive. Pretty sure they would be firewire. Not very good if they ain't tbh.

Well i've just been on pcworld and the cheapest 1tb network drive i could find was £124.99 and that didn't have firewire.

That best digital centre has a 1tb with fire800(IEEE1394b)/firewire(IEEE1394)/Hi-Speed USB and eSATA-300 for £82. LOL!!!!

The larger capacity drives are fine.. nothing wrong with a 1TB disk at all.
The MTBF is the same as the lower capacity disks anyway.

The *only* thing, is that it the drive fails, you potentially lose more data.. but that's just common sense, Heh.

The main thing to look out on the "USB drives" is what actual hard drive they use inside.. can make a difference.. obviously you know if you buy the caddy yourself and then put a HDD in it, but the "ready built" ones, you won't know until you get it in a lot of cases.

I recommend one of these: http://www.pcwb.com/catalogue/item/A0228210

Very small & USB powered, we bought a load at work a few weeks ago and so far so good! We also have some older 400GB ones by freecom and they are still going strong even though they have prob been dropped and thrown about quite a bit.

That's not USB powered.

USB powered drives are usually 2.5" drives too, due to the power draw, so you're limited to about 320GB at the moment on those at the moment.

Is that not 2.5"? my bad.. looks the same in the pic, maybe I should have read it, lol.. The ones we bought are def 2.5" 500GB and they are USB powered
