Check Engine Light + Check Anti Pollution System message

RS4

  Renault Clio IV RS
Couple days ago I found it weird that my Clio IV RS had displayed check gearbox message when starting up the car but it went away so didn’t think anything of it.

Then days later starting up my car again I see my check engine light on and check anti pollution system message. It’s been on ever since.

Anyone ever experience this before? What is wrong with my car and is there anything I can do to fix it?

You need to get the fault codes read, the anti-pollution message could be caused by a multitude of things, evap system leak, lambda probe going bad, cat going bad, ignition system, the list just goes on and on.

Mine often flashes up on start up but goes away I’ve always put it down to a voltage drop on starting.

If it’s on permanently get the codes read, delete them and rescan to see what comes back. If you’ve had it flash up before because of a voltage fluctuation you’ll have all manner of codes stored but not necessarily problems.
