check Injection warning

  Clio rs 200 sport
Hi. New hear, thanks. I have a Clio X98 RS 200 cup 2015 that i have had for about 12 months and is showing check injection warning as well as the spanner service light. Also I have lost function on cruise control and the speed limiter. My experience with the computer side of modern cars is limited.
Advice on were to start looking and what parts could be the problem and what order to replace them would be appropriated.
Car is running fine, possibly a little sluggish at low rpm. (could be my imagination).
Thanks in advance
Kev

Hi, welcome. It could be down to something as simple as the battery needing replacing. But ideally you’ll need it plugging in first to be diagnosed correctly.

That was the case a few months back. All sorts of warnings. Replaced battery problem solved. Battery needs to be 100%. Was just seeing if this is a common thing with these cars and something simple like a MAP sensor or like.

You’ll probably waste a lot more money replacing parts without a proper diagnosis than you‘d spend on getting the codes read, so I’d always start with that. The message could have multiple causes unfortunately.

Get it scanned with can clip to see what faults are stored, will pinpoint the issue.

From my own experience the stored codes from a voltage blip are an alarming thing!, it’ll have you replacing many unnecessary things!

P.s none of these actually brought up a spanner or warning.

Im not familiar on that diagnostic but clip usually tells you if its stored old codes or current on the df code and extended data will show you when triggered on mileage etc. There is always loads stored due to low voltage on most modern renaults, i usually clear all and see what comes back in that circumstances.

I’m like you I had no experience with diagnostic tools,my car was sluggish at low revs and became worse over time,I bought a iCarsoft pro CRV2.0,I had to download the Renault/Dacia software from a laptop(you can use it on other manufacturers too).It did a full scan, read the VIN number, listed the old faults and new faults( my fault was an injector). It was rather expensive not sure if a cheaper diagnostic would do the same job.https://youtu.be/TMTI5V8NBsM?si=fYgjT9MLHrXfDHax

Does anyone have any thoughts on the the iCarsoft CR pro plus scan tool
It’s helped me sort a few issues on my 182 — resetting the steering angle sensor, clearing fault codes, and even tracking down some dodgy wiring when the car suddenly refused to start.

That said, it’s not perfect. If you’re not comfortable reading schematics or don’t know your way around electrical systems, it can send you on a bit of a wild goose chase.

A couple of things it can’t do that I wish it did:
  • Reset the airbags (the RS Tuner and module cover that)
  • Activate the ABS pump when there’s air in the system
You can't beat knowledge, but still, it’s been a handy tool to own and has given me a much better understanding of what’s going on.

When the local Renault specialist want's $300 to diagnose, the cost of the pro is not to bad.

Check this pipe. They’re common for splitting.

LOL just came in with that part in my hand and seen your post. It broke a few months ago, came completely off, made the car very noisy and no power but did not trigger a warning. I glued it back together and all was well. The glue failed, opening a split at the back out of sight, this time triggering the warning.
Why would it not have triggered a warning the first time is beyond me.
These are multi segment parts glued at the factory. I would like to know what the adhesive is?

Check live data from map sensors.

With ignition on you should have close to atmospheric pressure.
At 800 rpm Pressure is 980mb same as atmospheric
2000 rpm 991mb
3000 rpm 999 mb
3500 rpm 1000 mb
Would have expected pressure to increase with rpm?
Upstream oxy varies wildly between 100 and 700
Rail pressure 22.4 B fuel flow 7mg/str
All readings with car stationary in neutral/park

It is increasing slightly, but I'm not sure what the exact readings should be for a given rpm range.

O2 sensor is correct, it should be going up and down.

Engine needs load on it to get the turbo working. Drive it and see what pressure it makes at full throttle. No idea if the icarsoft can datalog but you want something to datalog ideally

Smoke test or pressure boost circuit for leaks.
