Claim question

Well i managed to hit a bus lol

It was my fault etc. I was only going about 8mph so i can fix the damage on my car. But the bus company will claim on my insurance to have the bus fixed.

Do i still pay my excess if i decide to fix my car myself?

Thing is my friend had a claim and they said he didn't have to pay the excess if he didn't claim for his car.

As far as i know u only pay ur excess on ur own damage. But thats only if u claim for ur car to be repaired. If u fix it urself without the insuance being involved then u shouldnt have to pay the excess.

from my past claims, if they claim off your insurance u have to pay the excesss for there claim but if they claim off there own insurance then you dont have to pay a penny, only have to pay ur own excess if you claim through insurance

but either way u will have a claim against u, loose ncb etc
