cleaning/replacing the Cigarette Lighter

The connection in the cigarette lighter to chargers and stuff is awful at the mo, i tried to get as much of the rubbish and stuff that seems to have fallen in over the last 6 years out, but it's only slightly helped, so i'm now looking at a bigger job to sort it. So was wondering if anyone has taken the socket out before to clean and if its a easy job to remove and replace?

Also if its to much to clean i was looking at replacements, anyone know where the best place to get one would be? i found this one on ebay: http://tiny.cc/8pWly but would it be better to get the right one from the dealers, i'm guessing its not an expensive part.

I pulled mine out and gave it a good clean, works fine now

So my cigarette lighter/12v socket works (I have a usb charger in there at the moment) but its a bit dodgy, connection is a bit sporadic. Definitely need to clean/replace it - what's the best way to remove this? If I pull on it should it come right out?
I gave it a slight tug earlier but it didn't want to seem to budge, so thought I'd check how it actually comes out before I do some damage.
