Clio 172 Front Brake Caliper - Parts #s?

Hey Everyone,

Clio 172 owner based in Canada, trying to source some replacement front brake calipers (left front specifically).

The Brembo site says this will fit: https://www.bremboparts.com/europe/en/catalogue/caliper/F_68_086

But searching other parts sites, shows it as incompatible: https://www.mlperformance.co.uk/products/brembo-f-68-086-brake-caliper

I'm guessing it's just an error, but any idea if I'm wrong and this won't fit, before I order, is much appreciated.

Well the first link looks to be correct as it references the correct part number which is 7701205832. It also says it’s compatible with the 172 (CB0M) which I assume is your model?

Well the first link looks to be correct as it references the correct part number which is 7701205832. It also says it’s compatible with the 172 (CB0M) which I assume is your model?

Awesome, thanks. It's a 2000 Clio 172 (pre-facelift), Japanese delivered, so I assume CB0M. I don'y have the car available to doublecheck.

Thanks for the Lucas info. It's got Brembo caliper covers on it, but I don't think the actual calipers are Brembo.

Issue is, when you select CB0M as your vehicle on that site, it tells me that that caliper isn't compatible with that car.

Ah I’m not overly familiar with PH1s tbh. That model code is for a MK2 172. I’m sure somebody will pop by and help out.

No Brembo are just aftermarket. I can only speak for the UK market, but Lucas (British company) made the original calipers for Renault. TRW/Lucas etc are just part of German company ZF Friedrichshafen. I think they own lots of popular brands these days.

Sorry for the history lesson 😂 But I think it helps when looking for aftermarket parts as there’s so many well made and poorly manufactured parts out there.
