Has anyone ever heard of these?

I have found a set of wheels with them on for a pretty cheap price, are they actually any good and as they are practically new how much do you think the tyres are worth?

  Renault Clio 172 cup
I have seen these advertised as tarmac/rally/sprint/hill climb tyres. A fella in a clio cup had a set on when I was down at Brands a few weeks back, in 175/60/16 fitment I think ( weird size to put on a Clio I thought ). He said they were ok , however his mate was running " shinyu's ", or something like that and they were both driving rather conservatively ( thats being kind incase they frequent this site ), so I wouldnt trust his recommendation.

whats the offset on the alloys Si? I can bolt them on the track car and give it a quick blast around the lanes to see what they are like ;)

I haven't bought them, and I am not sure I really want to tbh. If you want them they are up for £200. 4x100 et24 wheels.

  172 Rally Car
They are a standard fia pattern for molded rally slicks (maximum surface area on the tarmac). Being remolds the side wall stiffness is not as good as something like proper molded slick. you also hear of horror stories of them disintegrating as they delaminate, that said i did see them at the autosport show a couple of years ago and spoke to the guys on the stand where they were explaining that they had taken over the old "colway" company and things had improved - so it depends on how old they are i suppose. They also explained that the grip they gave was not at the same level as a true rally slick and that they were more susceptible to overheating but are a fraction of the cost of something like a yokohama A006T or even a kuhmo Co3.

If they are cheap give them a go!

Yep. Tarmac rally tyre that. They use them on a generic rally school in the uk which will remain nameless. They last pretty well, not sure what they are like on track though.

And yes they are cheap although not sure they are still made.

Saw these on Nutz/MX5OC

wouldn't even consider them. For the money I had a set of Enkeis with near-new Yoko Advans. 6000% better

The maxsport rb5 which are almost the same pattern are 1B road legal, so most propably the collways are road legal as well.
The rb4 though which is the old michelin TB pattern are not. Strange...
