Component fitment.

  Renault Clio 172
Hi guys !

I have standard speakers 13 " without tweeters. I would like to replace them with 13" components. Do i need to replace speaker wires also or i can use the same wires that are there now for the old speaker ?

I have thought thad i put the tweeters in the corner of the dashboard. I exclude the dash removal. Where have you put the crossovers and how fixed it ?

If you are amping then fit new cable if your not then use existing cable.

For a neat approach install the tweeters and cross overs where the existing ones live.

I've installed components in the front of mine, tweets/mids are the in the standard locations and the crossovers are on top of the glovebox inside the dash as there aren't any as standard. You won't get away with removing the dash.
The trouble you face is getting round the fact that its very difficult to get wire into the doors, i've done this:

The other option is getting wire into the doors, theres a guide on here somewhere.

Due to that i wont use amplifier, i use the original speaker wires. Or this is impossible ?

Wires that comes from HU I cut them throug and put crossovers there. From cross one wire ( that one which was there before and went to door speaker) goes to door and new wire goes from cross to tweeter. Is this logic wrong ?

I would put the tweeters on the dash, not into the dash. There should be some holder to use.

Go for something mad, then retrim the door to cover up those nasty plastic doorcards ;)

Thats possible unless your using the standard hu. The trouble your going to have if you adament that your not going to remove the dash top is that running cable will be a nightmare. You won't get the old tweeters out for a start and you'll never be able to do it my way without the increased access removing the dash top will give you.

Unfortunately your going to have to wip it off, it really isn't that difficult. Only about 10 screws and pull. I've had mine off 3 times now and no new rattles to report.
