They both work if they're FAT32. Most USB sticks are FAT32 by default in my experience. HDDs also have a higher current draw but I'm unsure on what the PS3 can and can't power.

Too right, trying to work with HD footage with Fat32 is a nightmare.
But when you need to transfer from PC to Mac etc there's nothing else...is there?
Lol, b****cks, there is nothing wrong with fat32, it's only limit is the 4gb thing, hardly a massive issue, I don't have any files bigger than 4gb, but then I don't download inferior quality blurays rips, I get the real thing, only use my external hard drives for HD tv which isn't in HD over here.They both work if they're FAT32.
