could somebody please tell me where the crank sensor is on a ph2 172?

on top of the gearbox, kind of like a gold bridge with a black cylinder atatched to it.

cheers buddy, just broke down on way back from the renaultsport meet at the evo triangle, car cut out and wouldnt restart. had to call out the AA.

If its black its the older spec ones, renault have changed the plug on the newer ones that are blue in colour

right on top of the gearbox (TDC sensor), 2x 10mm bolts holding it on and 1 plug, you can get away with just giving them a clean sometimes. or atleast it worked with me once.
