Suppose this is more a question for the more techno mungess on here??

On the phase 2 172's obviously there was an option to have cruise CC/speed limit like the 182's yes?

What additional things would be needed on a standard sport to have this option?

I know obviously the 2 buttons either side but is there a control box it runs to? different ECU? From memory the option to have it put in was £500??

It wasn't an option I don't think, it was standard on late 172's. I think late 2003 onwards, although some don't have it, but they may have been built earlier, registered later. But I could well be wrong! iirc it's an absolute pain to retro fit it.
