Cutting out - Why

Hey all, Every now and again (maybe once or twice a month) my car cuts out. I get in the car, start it and it just loses the revs and cuts out. Is this a common fault to do with the ECU or something more serious?

Take in in to Renault you may need some updated software. The 1.2 has quite a few problems like this the new software usually fixes it.

If it aint sorted by re-programming, it will be the motorised throttle body.

There will probably have been quite a few I think the 172 has something like 15 updates in one yr.

Yep there a technical note out in March 2003 for the enigne I think.

But Im using an old version of the technical notes so maybe there has been even more updates.

The problem will be down to the same sort of thing as other Renault engines as there all similar ie electronic throttle bodies etc.
