Dash speakers

Just went to remove my dash speakers in the valver and put some new 4" in there. Why is there 4 wires going to a little black connector thing then two coming out. Should i just Just the two coming out of that little black connector or cut it the other end of that???

I think it has a small cross over built into the connector. The two wires that come out of it then go onto the speakers in the doors. Your better off changing the speakers in the doors instead. Or better still run the whole lot off a sparate amp and fit all new cabling.

Yer im getting some heavy soundstream 6 for the doors in a few weeks. Gotta make a door build fist and im gunna amp then up. Just had some 4" laying about so thought i would stick them in. ive finished it now. Sounds ok
