Decat + MOT

  Clio 1.5dci
When I bought the car it had a decat, the MOT will be coming up in a few months.

What is recommended? Should I leave it on, and see how it goes?

Get them to replace it if it fails, and then replace it back afterwards?

ask the MOT tester if emmisions will be a problem if you accidentely slip £20 under the seat etc..

90% will fail without the cat.

Thanks, I was thinking of travelling to portsmouth, about an hour away to rentech as they've been recommended.

asked rentech about decats, and apparently VOSA are stupidly strict around their part of the world, so wouldnt go there if planning on trying to sneak through the mOT

Thanks, I'll see if I can find recommendations for the Surrey area

I never understand why test station don't just do them with a decat, the MOT only certifies that the car was ok at the time of test, so as long as you don't get pulled and emissions tested as soon as you drive out of the test centre gates, (about as likely as Daniels garage standing up straight) then they're not liable.

Sack that it would be cheaper to buy a normal cat and swap them over. I'm sure if you visit your local test centres and ask them about it someone would pass it with the decat.
