dials idea

i am planning to do up my own set of dials, instead of going for a colour i was thinking of going clear with the details in white or something,

first, does anyone know if this is illegal or if there is anything under the mot etc.

second, how hard is it to get the old dials out, any instruction, help and opinions would be good.

difficult job. removing dials is a piece O piss.

bulbs are white sat behind an orange filter pannel with the needles etc attached to it

You could do this BUT you would have to make sure that all the spacings are accurate !! Dont want to be doing 80 thinking your doing 60 now do ya !! As said above the dials sit on an orange plastic lense with clear bulbs behind, You would have to change the lense aswell as the dial itself, would be hard and probably worth investing in a spare set of dials to experiment on !!

well i have seen it somewhere before on another car and it looked well sweet, the spacing shouldnt be a problem i caan scan the old dials into the computer and then work on them.

Seen it on a Nova. Looked very different at the time.
