C captain_clio Jul 4, 2003 #4 if the diameter is slightly bigger. eg: if i put 172 16"s on my 1.2 16v. will the speedo be incorrect?

Mwuhahahahahah Bigger diameter means your speedo will under-read. i.e. youll have 30 on the speedo but be doing 32 or whatever. You can work it out from the percentage difference - old diameter/new diameter = 1.xxxx Times the speedo reading by the 1.xxx and you should get what speed youre actually doing. (I think - that was all off the top of my head! Bit much for this time of night!)
