Diffusing/Dimming LED's?

I have today changed my standard alarm Led and also installed a secondary one on the drivers side. All is well except once night falls they light up the interior of the car with the flash! lol! They're just too bright!
I know it's probably my own fault for ordering the wrong rating, but is there a simple way round it without replacing them?

Yeah I guess, but I don't want them to be too dim for during the day. Size of resistor would have to be chosen carefully, lol!

just play around with the resistors. No hard and fast rules, just trial and error.
