I think it might have something to do with claims.

I phoned up before I wrote off my car, and was told that they would insure alloys, after I wrote my car off, shock horror, they had changed their policy and you now had to be over 25 to modify.

I told them I was off to another company that was cheaper anyway.

Woman on the phone said, and I kid you not, "why not, if you can get it cheaper thats what Id do".

Lol, what a businesswoman, I bet direct Line lover her.

well I dont know whats going on with direct line, rung again today hoping to get a different answer which you can normally do with them but no joy.

Anyone would think we had a fekkin Ferrari Enzo with the quotes weve been getting (Me 25 one accident, her 23 no points or owt) Greenlight and HIC would not even insure us! In the end weve gone to elephant but were still paying well over the odds (£1300!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Our direct line renewal (no mods) would have been a grand so Im well pissed off. At least with elephant you get your years NCB in 10 months

can anyone tell me how much direct line are likely to increase my insurance by (currently 1,300 on my 1.2 clio, im 17 btw) if i was to slap a set of alloys on there, i currently have no modifications at all.

are window tints really classed as a mod? Ive only got them and Lexus lenses on my 172 but havnt bothered insuring them coz I didnt thnk i wud need to?

mhova: i dont think so but u better fone em and ask em just incase

rafchandler: u definitely need to tell them bout the tints and u should also mention the lights just incase

there aint no harm in tellin em ur mods. basically, if u do summin and not tell em then smash ur car up, they wont give u a penny!

roll on the thieving scum comments...
