DIY Aerial

I've heard and seen a few people have DIY'd their aerial, basically chopping the long bit off the top. But does the radio still work, and does it work clear ?

I'm thinking of doing this, but dont want to loose the radio TBH.

you can use warm water to soften the top up and pull the bobble off then cut the aerial and stick the bobble back on. i have no idea how it work afterwards or....

i just fitted mine and it works perfectly fine and looks better too. i had to cut about 5mm off the thread though so that it sat flush

I wasn't too bothered about if mine worked or not so I just hacked it and screwed it back on.

I tried the radio after and it worked!...Cheap mod, check my progress thread to see how it looks if you like.

it still definately works, i dont get how it can actually work, because surely that top bit is just pointless lol.
