do i need a chip

they can run lean and the only way of being 100% sure is to check, but a chip will generally help with things.

OOps, just noticed is a 1.2, but iirc they do run lean midrange aswell.

The only chip for the 1.2 16V would be the unichip - no other companies i know of do one
have u got a unichip? how much are they and also will renault approve?

  Lionel Richie

Nope i havent got a chip no need IMO as its a 1.2!!! (mines done 50000miles no with no problems from the induction kit)

Unichip is about £450ish

and NO reno defo wont approve (they hate me anyway!!!!)

Im going for the easier option and changing engines

As Ben says speak to GDi

do insurance companys hammer us for engine conversion? i would love something more powerful but im worried ill be ripped off! do u think the clio standard brakes good enough to not require an upgrade?

  Lionel Richie

erm i havent checked the insurance yet!!!!! (ill worry about that at a later stage!!!)

the std brakes are infact williams/valver discs with R5GTT pads and they can handle upto 170bhp albeit in a lighter car

Im just gonna wack on a big disc conversion and possibly 4pots if needed at a later date
